UNIT HISTORY

HERITAGE OF SERVICE

The Logistic Support Unit carries forward a proud tradition of military support service spanning more than a century. Its heritage traces from the Fiji Labour Corp of the First World War, through the Fiji Labour Corp during the Second World War, the Support Coy period from 1970 to 1987, and the Logistic Support Unit from 1987 to today.

Across these generations, the mission of support has continued to evolve while remaining focused on enabling the force through people, supplies, transport and essential logistic capability.

  1. 1914–1918

    FIJI LABOUR CORP

    The beginning of the Unit's recorded logistic heritage, with the Fiji Labour Corp serving during the First World War.

  2. WORLD WAR II

    FIJI LABOUR CORP

    The tradition of labour and support service continued during the Second World War through the Fiji Labour Corp.

  3. 1970–1987

    SUPPORT COY

    The support organisation operated as Support Coy, continuing the provision of essential support capability.

  4. 1987–TODATE

    LOGISTIC SUPPORT UNIT

    The Logistic Support Unit continues the tradition of service, providing the people and capabilities required to support today's force.
